How it works

What happens to a call
once a phone is shielded?

The phone keeps its number. Its calls are forwarded to PhoneShield, which refuses known scammers before it rings, lets family straight through, and asks everyone else who they are and what they want. Ten minutes to set up for a parent, who never has to judge a stranger on the phone again.

The tale of two calls: a scammer and a daughter call the same phone. Four minutes.

How it works

Three steps between a scammer
and your parent’s phone.

The ten-minute setup guide
01 / FORWARD

Their number stays the same

Subscribe and we assign a PhoneShield number. Forward the phone to it with one carrier code. Nobody they know has to learn anything new.

02 / REFUSE AND SORT

Scammers never ring

Numbers on the shared scam list and in the FTC’s daily complaint data are refused before the phone rings. Family and favorites ring straight through. Everyone else answers one question at the front desk.

03 / RING THEM, OR YOU

Real calls get through, with a name

A caller with a real reason rings through with a whisper saying who it is. Questions go to Nora, the assistant. Sales pitches and scam scripts are declined. You see every call and every message from your own phone.

Watch it done

It comes down to two things.
Two minutes to see them.

Start PhoneShield

Tell PhoneShield the private line, then tell the iPhone to forward to PhoneShield. Captions are burned in, so it plays fine on mute.

What a caller hears
at the front desk.

The front desk says it is one, asks who is calling and what it is about, and decides from the answer: a real reason rings through with a whisper, a question goes to Nora, a sales pitch or a scam script is declined politely. Explore the examples, then make a test call before forwarding the line.
